Buttercup CommunityButtercup Town Site

The town of Buttercup, located a few miles south of Cedar Park, was settled primarily by the Dodd, McRae, and Crumley clans in the early 1800s.  Once known as Doddboro and Doddville, Buttercup had a cotton gin, store, and post office.  The old town of Buttercup is now under water behind the conservation dam on US 183, behind Aaron's Furniture Store.
